Bishop Alfred E. Payne

  a servant of God has been a voice in the body of Christ since his childhood. Born in Pensacola, Florida he grew into a man and realized he needed something more of our life. In the year of 1973 he accepted Christ as his personal savior. At the age of 6, unbeknownst to all what would become of it, he picked up a guitar. He spent many hours practicing while his friends played outside. This practicing paid off during his teens he became a musician for his brother, Bishop C. P. Andrews and the All Saints Holiness Church in Pensacola, Florida. As he played, the Lord seen his faithfulness, he was called into the ministry in 1979 he was licensed to preach by Bishop L. Locke.

In the 1980’s being led by the Lord, he relocated to Monticello, New York where he developed a great passion for soul’s especially young people. In 1990 he was led to join Green Chapel Overcoming Church of God under the leadership of Bishop G. C. Ridgill. There he met and married Missionary Glenda Bennermon. He served as an associate minster and was appointed at the minister of music. September 1991 he was ordained as Elder in the Overcoming Church of God of America, Inc., under the direction of Bishop Ridgill, Elder Payne was in charge of bible study and Sunday night services at Green Chapel Overcoming Church of God in Kingston, New York. In November 1996 Elder Payne served as pastor of the Galilee Pentecostal Church in Poughkeepsie, New York until June 1999. May 2002, the Lord called Bishop George C. Ridgill to eternal rest, being led by the Lord, Elder Alfred E. Payne established Payne Mission Overcoming Church of God in Poughkeepsie, New York. The Lord elevated Pastor Payne and in July 2003 he was elevated to the Episcopal Office of Bishop in the Lord’s church by Bishop N. K. Allen, Sr., Presiding Prelate of the Overcoming Church of God of America, Inc. he was appointed to serve as an Auxiliary Bishop.

Bishop Alfred Payne is the husband of one wife, Elder Glenda J. Payne who serves alongside him in the ministry. Together they have two children, Rondell and Tina as well as one grandchild, Marquis. Bishop Payne continues to serve as pastor of Payne Mission Church of God. Bishop Payne was elevated again and appointed as Second Vice Presiding Bishop of R. King Ministries Fellowship, Inc. by Presiding Prelate and Chief Apostle, Dr. Ray A. King.

Although Bishop Payne has been faced with many trials and tests he's determined to serve and His church.
